Meet the Principal

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year! 

Dear Collins Elementary Families,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new principal of Collins Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. My name is Cristina Garcia, and I am truly honored to join this incredible school community. As principal, my commitment is to ensure that every child feels safe, valued, challenged, and excited to come to school every day! My goal is to ensure the continued success of Collins Elementary by supporting our dedicated staff, partnering with families, and creating meaningful relationships with our students, staff, and school community. I look forward to working together to ensure that every student feels inspired to reach their full potential.

I have dedicated more than 21 years to education, serving in a variety of leadership and teaching roles including principal, assistant principal, classroom teacher, and district level positions. I hold two master’s degrees, one in Educational Leadership and another in Curriculum and Instruction which have equipped me to support student achievement and instructional excellence.

On a personal note, I am the proud mother of an amazing daughter who is currently a sophomore at the University of Southern California. Fight on! She is majoring in Cinematic Arts, Film, and Television and I hope soon to see more of her films on the big screen. I also have a special connection to the Paramount community, as my grandparents have called Paramount home for decades. It is truly meaningful to have the opportunity to serve the community that has been such an important part of my family's story.

I believe that strong relationships are the heart of a successful school and I look forward to getting to know each of you as we build a strong partnership.   Throughout the year, I encourage you to participate in our school activities and events whenever you can. Your involvement and support truly make a difference in your child’s education and in our school community. I look forward to a positive and productive year together!
